Peter Scott Dunn who was the principal and owner of the Straight Mile Farm Equine Centre, qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 1946.

His career began as Demonstrator in Animal Management, Stable Management, Dentition and Shoeing at the Royal Veterinary College. In 1947 he joined the LMS Railway as veterinary surgeon in charge of horses in the London district, where there were some 5,000 working horses at that time.

Peter moved to Berkshire in 1950, joining the forerunner of the present day practice in Earley. Peter Scott Dunn and Tony Ward took over the equestrian division of the practice in the 60's and in 1972 Peter and his wife purchased Straight Mile Farm. By 1974 the practice had become a fully functioning equine centre.

Peter has been Team Veterinary Surgeon to the British Olympic Equestrian Team for 31 years and was the first chairman of the BHS Welfare Committee. He is a long time member of Hurlingham Polo Association Pony Welfare Committee and continues in a consultative capacity at the practice.
