Veterinary fees

veterinary fees Unfortunately there is no national health service for veterinary treatment and our services are supported by the fees we charge. To provide the facilities and level of treatment expected in today's veterinary practice, fees must be realistic. We ask for prompt payment of fees to be made within 28 days. In this way we hope to maintain fees at a reasonable level.

We are glad to give an estimate of the likely charges for any procedure or course of treatment. Please ask whenever you have concerns about this.

Insurance

Insurance is available to cover the cost of veterinary fees for treatment of medical conditions, investigations and surgical operations. Existing conditions will not be covered and there will be an excess charged depending on the breed and age of your horse. It may well be worth taking out a policy for peace of mind should unforeseen problems arise.

There has been a change in the pet insurance industry and it is now under the auspices of the F.S.A.

This means that from now on we can only discuss pet insurance generally without advising on specific companies. More importantly it also means we cannot speak to the insurance companies on your behalf when sorting out a claim. From now on, when your insured animal receives treatment we ask you to contact your insurance company to get a claim form. Bring the claim form in to us and we will fill out our portion of the form. We will endeavour to complete the forms and return them to you within 2 weeks.

Any queries regarding the claim are then a matter between you and the insurance company. Any queries regarding these changes in the regulations don't hesitate to talk to us.
