Artificial Insemination for your mare
We have a regime for both chilled and frozen semen for artificial insemination of your mare. Therefore, if you are interested in producing a foal from your valuable mare please get in touch early. If you would like a consultation to discuss this, please call the clinic.
Having had success with embryo transfer last year, we will be offering it again this year for clients that may be interested.
Highest fertility rates are achieved with young mares (under 12 years) or mares under 18 years that have had a foal.
We expect fertility rates of over 80% with chilled semen and approximately 70% with frozen. Semen quality does vary.
Furthermore, we have significantly increased the equipment in order to give the best possible service to our clients.
We have put together a single fee package to minimise additional costs. (see below)
Scott Dunns Reproduction Packages 2010
- Fresh/chilled semen package - £350 +VAT per cycle
- Frozen semen package - £380 +VAT per cycle
- Embryo Transfer – Full transfer £950+ VAT
Package will include
- 4 days livery at the clinic
- Prostaglandin injection to bring into season
- All ultrasound scans while in season
- Uterine swab and lab fee
- Ovuplant injection to induce ovulation
- Storage and handling of frozen semen
- Insemination fee
- Two pregnancy scans – normally at 14/15 days and at 28/30 days
Package will not include
- Clitoral swab and EVA blood sample (“pre-stud checks”)
- Visit fees
- Action taken in the event of twinning
- Action taken if uterus contaminated – lavage, antibiotic therapy
- Caslick procedure
